Youth Revolution Clan works across five connected focus areas that help young people in Pakistan learn, lead and contribute to sustainable development.

Each area is linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together they describe how YRC works as a youth empowerment organization in Pakistan: building skills, opening doors and encouraging young people to take action in their communities.

1. Youth empowerment & decision-making

Why it matters: Young people make up a large share of Pakistan’s population, yet they are often left out of the decisions that affect them.

What we do: We help young people build leadership, communication, critical-thinking and decision-making skills, and we encourage civic participation, from community projects to international dialogues.

Linked SDGs: SDG 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions), SDG 17 (Partnerships)

In practice: YRC delegates spoke about youth participation in the SDGs at a UN youth summit in Geneva in 2022.

2. Women & girls’ education

Why it matters: Education is one of the most powerful tools for equality, and too many girls still miss out on quality schooling and digital learning.

What we do: We advocate equal access to quality education and digital learning for girls in urban and rural communities, and we encourage young women to take up leadership roles.

Linked SDGs: SDG 4 (Quality education), SDG 5 (Gender equality)

In practice: YRC’s chairman and co-chair spoke at a UN Geneva dialogue on empowering women in December 2022.

3. Social entrepreneurship & digital skills

Why it matters: Digital skills and entrepreneurial thinking help young people find work, start ventures and solve local problems.

What we do: We promote digital literacy, innovation, entrepreneurial thinking and practical skills that support employment and job creation.

Linked SDGs: SDG 8 (Decent work and economic growth), SDG 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure)

4. Environmental protection & climate action

Why it matters: Young people will live longest with the consequences of climate change, and they have a strong stake in the solutions.

What we do: We raise environmental awareness, support conservation and encourage community-led climate action.

Linked SDGs: SDG 13 (Climate action), SDG 11 (Sustainable cities and communities)

In practice: YRC was an organizing partner of a youth climate action session at COP30 in November 2025.

5. Peacebuilding & conflict resolution

Why it matters: Respect across cultures and faiths is the foundation of peaceful, cohesive communities.

What we do: We encourage tolerance, respectful dialogue, cultural understanding and interfaith harmony.

Linked SDGs: SDG 16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions)

In practice: YRC organized the 2016 and 2017 Lahore International Conferences on Culture, which discussed interfaith harmony and cultural diversity.

Why an SDG-aligned approach?

The Sustainable Development Goals give young people a shared global language for the change they want to see. By linking every focus area to the SDGs, YRC helps young Pakistanis connect local action, such as a literacy activity or a clean-up campaign, to national priorities and international conversations.

How the focus areas fit together

A young person might start by volunteering on a community project, build skills through a workshop or mentorship, and go on to represent their community at a national or international forum. Our youth development programs are designed to support that journey.
